World Bank authorizes millions in financing for Pakistan's stability
The funds are part of the Public Resources for Inclusive Development—Multiphase Programmatic Approach (PRID-MPA), a national initiative designed to support federal and provincial reforms to enhance domestic revenue mobilization. The program has a total financing ceiling of $1.35 billion.
Of the approved amount, $600 million is allocated to federal initiatives, while $100 million is dedicated to the Sindh provincial program, according to the World Bank.
“Pakistan’s path to inclusive, sustainable growth requires mobilizing more domestic resources and ensuring they are used efficiently and transparently to deliver results for people,” said Bolormaa Amgaabazar, the World Bank’s country director for Pakistan.
